Land of food, beaches, and oh yeah.. we're here to paddle...

Hello fellow readers of this blog!

It's Marianne here giving a brief update of what's been going on.

The weather here has been really hot and humid. We're hydrating ourselves like crazy but I must say.. it does beat the cold ANYTIME!

So most of us arrived safely on Sunday. We have Eva, Zelia, Jenever, Ann, Beth, Rika, Sean, Cris, Judy, Amanda, Jaclyn, Jermaine, Nui, Nandini, Rachelle and Ben. The rest are arriving today!

We've gone out to shop at the local strip in Batu Ferringghi (The location which we are living in) and we've been eating local food as well. A couple of us have gone around Georgetown (the inner city of Penang) and some just came back from Bangkok as well as Langkawi. We've bumped into a number of fellow paddlers and gee.. it seems hard to miss a Canadian here. We've definitely invaded this spot and we'll probably see more as the days go by.

All in all, we're alive, and doing well strolling along the beach and swimming in beautiful resort pools (we have good hookups). It's been hard for us to access internet and calling cards so do bear with us trying to get our bearings! I will hopefully post some pictures tomorrow and some of the girls are wanting to post some stories... so do check back again soon!
